Goal weight calculator.
How long it takes to get from where you are to where you want to be, at a pace you choose. It will give you a date when the arithmetic supports one, and tell you plainly when it does not.
How the date is worked out
Step 1 - what you burn. Your maintenance comes from the Mifflin-St Jeor equation and an activity multiplier, exactly as on the TDEE calculator: 10 × weight in kg, plus 6.25 × height in cm, minus 5 × age, then plus 5 for men or minus 161 for women, all multiplied by how much you move.
Step 2 - the gap. Your pace sets how far under or over maintenance you eat. Losing takes 10%, 20% or 25% off for steady, moderate or aggressive; gaining adds 5%, 10% or 15%. Whether you are losing or gaining is read from your goal weight rather than asked for, because you have already said it.
Step 3 - turning calories into kilos. A kilogram of body mass is treated as about 7700 kcal, the standard planning figure. Divide the daily gap by that and you get a daily rate; divide what you have to lose or gain by the daily rate and you get days. That is the whole calculation, and it is the same one the app runs behind its own projections.
Why the line is straight and your body is not. This model holds your maintenance still, and in reality it drifts down as you get lighter - a smaller body costs less to run, and adaptive thermogenesis takes a little more on top. A long cut therefore tends to run late against the date here. That is a reason to re-run it every few weeks from your real weight, not a reason to eat less than the plan says.
Why there is a one-year ceiling. Past about 52 weeks a straight-line projection stops being arithmetic and starts being a story: the drift above compounds, and life happens. So a goal further out than a year gets no date at all here. Plenty of calculators will happily print "October 2031". That number is not better than ours; it is just less honest about being made up.
The scales will not follow the line either. Day to day your weight moves with water, salt, carbohydrate stores and the state of your gut, which is easily two or three kilos of noise around the signal. Weigh in at the same time under the same conditions, and judge progress on a weekly average rather than any single morning.
No target is ever suggested below 1200 kcal a day. If the arithmetic lands lower, it is raised to that floor - the same limit the app applies everywhere.

This is an estimate and a starting point, not medical advice. Every equation of this kind is a population average, so your real burn can sit a few hundred kcal either side of it. Track for two or three weeks and adjust to what actually happens on the scales. If you are pregnant, managing a health condition or unsure, speak to a doctor or dietitian first.
There is no account here and no tracking cookie, so nothing you enter is saved to a profile or tied to you. The sums run on our server, and your answers travel in the page address - which is what makes a result shareable, so treat a link you send as carrying those numbers with it.
